About
A safe space where you can expect confidential and compassionate discussions without judgement. I’m Smruthi Shah, a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (level 2), and a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors(MNZAC) and I hope to create this safe space for you. I have been working since 2016 towards mental health awareness and counselling individuals, couples, and groups, so they can move towards a life that feels more meaningful to them.
I have worked with many people around the globe (India, Australia and New Zealand), and in various settings and teams as a counsellor (including EAPs, universities, schools, colleges, and health facilities). I enjoy working with clients from various cultures and diverse backgrounds be it culturally, neurologically, or diversity in gender/sexuality and would love to be a part of an individual's journey while they explore more about themselves and their relationships. I am more focused on ACT and DBT while I pick tools and strategies from various theories. While there are multiple concerns I have worked on with individuals, anxiety and self-development are prominent areas that my clients and I have worked on as a team. I do believe that counselling is teamwork and is more than just a conversation while that is a big part of the process, the healing comes from more than just talking about our concerns.
I am happy to answer any questions and would suggest a call to see if we are the right fit to help you with what you might be experiencing. Please feel free to email me and I look forward to hearing from you.
