About

I am a  Clinical Psychologist who has completed rigorous training in the field of mental health. I am fluent in English, Kannada, Hindi and Gujarati. After completing my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Christ University, I pursued Masters of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the renowned Manipal University.

I take keen interest in mindfulness and its use in psychotherapy and have undergone training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (mindfulness based third-wave behavioral therapy). I take interest in dealing with clients of various backgrounds and diagnosis including depression, anxiety, substance use, personality disorders, post-traumatic disorder and childhood disorders. I am also trained in conducting group therapy sessions and have conducted mindfulness workshops for different age groups. Having undertaken research as part of my course I have researched in areas of Internet addiction, diabetes among young adults and stress among students.

I believe in using a holistic and evidence-based approach in therapy, keeping empathy and compassion as the cornerstone of my therapeutic alliance. Therapy according to me goes beyond just treating mental disorders or conditions. Therapy should aim at a better quality of life for the individual enabling them to better handle the experiences of life. Hence, therapy is not just for those with mental health conditions, therapy is for everyone, any individual who wishes to improve their quality of life. I maintain my competence by being part of peer group discussions and attending conferences and workshops in addition to seeking supervision.
