Shobhika Jaju is has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mumbai. Backed by an excellent academic record, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sophia College for Women, Mumbai and secured a merit rank in her subject area as well as in the Bachelor of Arts program across 250 plus colleges from Mumbai University. Shobhika has qualified the NET exam for professorship. Shobhika has authored several research papers, is a published researcher and writes frequently for print and online media as a freelancer.
Shobhika facilitates workshop on topics related to psychology and has conducted workshops for teachers, parents and students as well as corporate institutes. She has delivered several guest lectures and has also been invited as a panelist for seminars. Over the years, Shobhika has worked with and helped children, adolescents, adults and the elderly with various concerns of the mind & behaviour. She has developed a keen interest in the workings of the mind and strongly believes that any mental, emotional or behavioural concern can be solved by training the mind. Shobhika has been trained in several therapeutic modes, among which are Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and Hypnotic Induction. She is also adept with pain management, dementia management, and psychological first aid. She uses these and other therapeutic approaches in combination to help her clients.
Some of her preferred modes of therapy include behaviour therapy (in various forms for children and adults), anger management, relapse – prevention from substance abuse, relaxation strategies, play therapy, and study skills, among others. As a counsellor in Little’s Pre-Primary & Primary School for 2 ½ years, Shobhika has made extensive use of Play Therapy to connect with children of all ages and seen positive changes in their mental wellbeing and plans to continue doing so through Silver Linings. With a firm belief that learning is life long, Shobhika continues to get trained in newer therapy modalities with an aim to help her patients live a better life. Shobhika has worked with patients exhibiting several different mental disorders in demanding situations and is well – versed with the administration of some of the most important psychometric tests. She has helped clients with various mood & anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, & schizophrenia, among other conditions. She has worked with children exhibiting symptoms of attention deficit, hyperactivity, learning disability, autism, bereavement and suicidal tendencies.
