About

Nabonita has been a practicing Counselling Psychologist for the last 10 years and has been a therapist with some of the top non profit and for profit organisations in the country mainly in the areas involving involving trauma, violence, abuse, conflict, relationships, family dynamincs and marriage. She loves working with anything that has emotions as she feels that it helps her to grow and learn most about herself. She loves group behaviour, dynamics and being a trainer helps her to satisfy that need of hers. She is a firm believer that children and adolescents need a space for themselves to form a connect with their selves something that she wished she had in her ‘younger’ days. Also a mother to a primary school-go'er, a relationship that she is continuously discovering and understanding facets about herself that she never knew had.

She wanted to be a chef when she was growing up, could cook a basic meal by the time she was 10 not only for herself but for the family too. Somewhere in the middle she also thought she could be a painter and mash up the two together as a career choice. However as she grew, interest in human behaviour also grew with her and she knew that being a therapist would make her the most satisfied. She feels that one must never stop learning because there is so much more to what meets the eye and it is from there she develops her empathy, connect, acceptance, knowledge, awareness, insight which hugely helps her in her therapeutic approach and practice.

Nabonita is immensely passionate about social causes always tries to find links between and mental/emotional health of an individual. Her latest obsession which is mostly coming from her own experience of a new mother and hopes to work on it some time in her lifetime. Currently she is content working with Children First and helping the team build a community of concern for children.
