About

Dr. Manoranjan Sahay is a qualified Clinical Psychologist,’ Fellow’ and ex-President of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP).  He successfully completed the two-year Post-M.A. course in Medical and Social Psychology in the year 1964 from Hospital For Mental Diseases (now known as Central Institute of Psychiatry), Ranchi University and subsequently completed his Ph.D. Since then he has been actively engaged in teaching, research and clinical work in the various areas of Clinical Psychology. After Superannuating in the year 1996 from a Faculty position at GB Pant Hospital and Associated Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, he has been maintaining his same activities and is on the list of visiting faculty-members of some of the Indian Academic Institutes. Out of his 20 research works, 16 have been published in scientific journals of India as well as outside India. He has contributed 8 health related Chapters in different books including “Psychotherapeutic Techniques in Clinical Practice” at the request of IMA AKN Sinha Institute of Continuing Medical and Health Education and Research, Delhi for Post-Graduate Certificate Course in Psychiatry and Psychosexual Medicine. He was invited by IACP to deliver kang oration. He served as Chairman, Core Committee of Clinical Psychology, Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). His areas of interest include teaching, research, Psycho - diagnostics and Psychotherapy. Recently he has developed a keen interest in health problems in organizational set up as well as Torture victims and is doing work in these areas also and has contributed in manual for dealing with such victims. Under the aegis of SPHERES Sahay positive health research and eclectic services, he concentrates more on positive health that also requires the necessity of working with children, adolescents, and students at the different educational levels.
